Gardening & Landscaping
ProWood® pressure-treated lumber is not only affordable and easy to use, it gives your gardening and landscaping a professional look. ProWood MCA-treated lumber has a lighter, fresher appearance compared to competing brands of pressure-treated lumber. It's also less-corrosive to fasteners, making gardening and landscaping projects look great — even after years of weathering the toughest conditions. And more importantly: it's environmentally friendly. Our MCA (micronized copper azole) treated products use a proven treatment process that earned Environmentally Preferred Product status from Scientific Certification Systems.
The safe, logical choice
ProWood MCA-treated wood products may be used in or around plant and produce gardens. Copper and tebuconazole are the active biocide ingredients in MCA-treated wood products that protect against decay and termite attack. Both of these biocides are also extensively used as commercial agricultural fungicides in the US, Canada and internationally for protecting food and feed crops such as fruits, vegetables and grains from damaging plant diseases.
USDA National Organic Program
As a naturally occurring mineral, copper is also recognized for use in the USDA National Organic Program, but tebuconazole as a synthetically derived substance is not. Therefore, MCA-treated wood products will not be recognized for use in organic crop production (i.e. tomato stakes, vineyard stakes & posts, etc.) under the USDA National Organic Program.
