Deck the Halls - and the Deck

It’s winter! White snow. Warm fires. Family gatherings. It’s a beautiful time of year, no matter where you live. Maybe your home gets blanketed with snow, or maybe you hang ornaments on palm trees for the holidays. No matter where you are, we have a few decorating ideas for you.
First, make sure your deck is winterized (check out our previous blog on how to prepare your deck for the winter months). Once that’s done, it’s time to spruce it up for the holidays!
Add foliage décor
Gather some garland and wrap it around your railing. Build festive bouquets to add to your deck planters. Hang wreaths from the porch lights or deck posts.
Add a Christmas tree
Who says you can’t have a Christmas tree on your deck? Gather the kids to place string popcorn or cranberries on the tree. Create pinecone birdfeeders and place these on the tree as well.
Add Lighting
Hang lights on the railing to keep your festive look after nightfall.
Add Warmth
If weather permits, place pillows and blankets on your outdoor furniture. (We recommend flannel prints!) If you have patio heaters, bring those out as well.
Your deck can look great year-round! Make it a tradition with family and friends to decorate it for the holidays. Bribe them with hot cocoa and cookies and make it a deck decorating party.
