ProWood® was thrilled to be a big part of an exciting new “Dream Dog Park,” sponsored by Purina’s Beneful dog food brand in Lancaster, Pa., using ProWood Professional Grade Lumber for many of its structures. ProWood Dream Dog Park 2013

The park was unveiled to the public on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 as Beneful’s third Dream Dog Park project!  The park, inspired by Lancaster resident Angela Bauman's 2012 contest winning entry, features an array of amusement park-themed elements. Universal Forest Products donated ProWood® for many of the wood structures in the dog park. ProWood treated lumber, which is safe for pets and people, was used throughout the dog park, including the perimeter, around all trees inside the park, for the substructure under the composite lumber deck and on the entrance pavilion. The highlight is 40-foot- long roller coaster bridge, which was built using ProWood Dura Color pressure-treated lumber. Universal also donated Latitudes® ultra-low maintenance composite decking for the custom-built deck and dock.

In honor of Bauman's four-legged playmate Beau, the City of Lancaster renamed the half-million-dollar park “Beau's Dream Dog Park,” which has been transformed from a muddy off-leash area into an oasis for dogs and their owners.
